Customer Testimonials

Our Insulspan SIP home was delivered mid June of 2006. Within 2 days our 1560 sq ft home was set up on our concrete pad and was covered in house and roof wrap. I cannot say enough about the excellent workmanship provided by Jon Morehouse and his crew. The cost of heating our SIP home located in West-central Illinois near Moline, IL was $150 for the entire winter of 2006-2007, $180 for the winter of 2007-2008 and from 10-10-08 to 2-1-09, the cost was $112 with the average temperature during November, December and January averaging 8-10 degrees below normal. We are very happy with our Insulspan SIP home and would make very few, if any change if we were to build again.

Extreme Structures LLC was the company we hired to do a 1200 sq. ft. addition on our home in Milwaukee. They truly were experts in their field. We found them to be, dependable, conscientious, with superior attention for detail, and extremely easy to work with. After our initial experience, there was never a second thought as to who would build our dream home in Denmark. Our new home is everything we hoped for and more!

When it comes to saving energy and lowering heating/cooling costs...SIPs can't be beat! We love how cheap it is to heat and cool our house. The construction time was also amazingly fast! We broke ground and moved into our house in a fraction of the time compared to the other stick-built homes in our subdivision. The work crew and supervisor did a fantastic job and were a pleasure to work with. Building a home was a great experience with Extreme Structures and we will do it again in the future!

Living in an Insulspan SIP home on Lake Winnebago has exceeded our greatest expectations. Extreme Structures LLC, the Insulspan contractor used Insulspan Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) to design and create the home of our dreams. Value and quality were obtained with no costly architect required. The precut panels were erected in minimal time to our great satisfaction. Timber frame construction along with the panels allowed for an open floor plan. The vaulted ceilings accommodate a 21 foot stone fireplace to create a dramatic living area. Insulspan offered unique architectural features at reasonable construction costs. The energy efficient SIPs and ICFs along with an effective heating and cooling system maintained even heat and cooling throughout the entire home. This allowed the use of more square footage for living space. The 6,000 square foot home includes a lower level, with another large stone fireplace and the area above the 2,000 square foot heated garage which includes three overized bedrooms and a generous bathroom. The coziness and beauty of our home represents an architecturally unique home. People dream of exotic vacations, we dream of staying home and enjoying our SIP lake home.

We are proud to say that we are the only green built home in our town. Our new house was completed in March of 2008 by Jon Morehouse and Darren Harrington of Extreme Structures LLC of Denmark, WI. Our family was seeking to build a new home with many sustainable features, which is what drew us to the energy efficient qualities of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) and Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) during the summer of 2007. After completing the custom design and discussing our options with Extreme Structures, we decided that ICFs and SIPs technology was a great option for this project. The inherent energy efficient qualities of the construction and design has proven successful through our first winter in the new house as our monthly energy costs are approximately 2/3 of what they use to be, in a house that is almost twice as large and on two levels. In addition, our summer cooling bills have reduced significantly as well. Our experience in working with Extreme Structures and their partners was productive throughout, the project schedule and execution of design ran smoothly and was completed within budget requirements.

Our two dimensional dream house was finally going to become a reality. Extreme Structures converted our sketches to blue prints and engineered a safe way to build it. Team Extreme gave us the courage to become general contractors and build our own house. Installing windows and doors was a snap because of the squared framing and dimensional accuracy. Inspectors and tradesmen were awed and appreciative of the little things done by Extreme Structures that made their job easier. Now a passive convection wood fireplace keeps our 1560 sq ft home (with a 21 ft cathedral ceiling, loft and 36 windows) a comfortable 70 degrees. Even though average temperatures were below normal, we used only 2 pickup truck loads of wood. Our total heating cost for November through January was only $225. Seeing is believing! This home is exactly what we hoped it would be. Partnering with the right team made building it an enjoyable experience. If we ever have to live somewhere else, it will be in a SIP/ICF house and we sincerely hope Extreme Structures will be our partners again.
